An access indicator drawn from what each MCO submitted to the locator, not a census of enrolled dentists.
Drive times: OSRM road-network routing (OpenStreetMap) from a fixed point in Lexington to each county seat (Census 2023 Places Gazetteer coordinates), computed July 2026. One estimate per county: it is the drive to the county seat, not to any individual clinic or practice shown in that county. Where a county has two seats, Alexandria (Campbell) and Independence (Kenton) were used. OSRM durations run roughly 5–15% longer than typical-traffic estimates, so the drive times shown lean slightly long.
Health center (FQHC) sites: HRSA Health Center Program — Service Delivery and Look-Alike Sites file (data.hrsa.gov), downloaded 2026-07-22. 671 active Kentucky records less 35 administrative-only offices = 636 sites from 35 organizations, including 28 FQHC Look-Alike sites. Contact details are exactly as published by HRSA — none are inferred; HRSA regenerates the file daily, so confirm before relying on them. "No dental program reported" means zero dental patients in the UDS years cited; current absence has not been verified. UDS dental is largely preventive and general dentistry — it is not evidence of surgical capacity (extractions under sedation).
